The rest of this page explains what TR90 was, what Nu Skin actually claimed for it, and what we would suggest instead — because most of what is written about TR90 online describes a programme you can no longer buy, in language Nu Skin never used.
What Nu Skin Claimed for TR90
One sentence, and it is worth reading closely:
"A breakthrough weight management and body shaping system, based on highly innovative gene expression science, that unifies your mind and body — for a leaner, younger looking you."
That is the whole of Nu Skin's US claim for the system. Note what is in it: gene expression science, weight management, body shaping, "a leaner, younger looking you".
Note also what is not in it, because this is where the internet fills the gap:
- No claim about preserving lean muscle while losing fat. That sentence is everywhere online and it is not Nu Skin's.
- No named gene clusters, no appetite-signalling mechanism, no metabolic-rate figures.
- No weekly timeline. There is no week 1–2 phase, no week 3–6 phase, no "by week 12" outcome. That structure was invented, and it used to appear on this very page.
- No pounds, no percentages, no before-and-after figures.
What the GreenShake Actually Is
Nu Skin's description of the ageLOC TR90 GreenShake, in full: "A delicious vanilla flavored lactose-free, gluten-free, soy-free shake, using vegetarian proteins."
That is a meal-replacement-style protein shake with three specific dietary exclusions, and that is the honest way to think about it. If you are lactose-intolerant, coeliac or avoiding soy, the exclusions are the reason to look at this one rather than a cheaper tub. If none of those apply to you, be honest with yourself about whether you are paying for the brand.
What We Would Suggest Instead
The original TR90 was a system, and a shake on its own is not a system. If weight management is genuinely the goal, here is how the remaining range actually breaks down:
- Protein and convenience — TR90 GreenShake, or TRMe GO Protein+, which Nu Skin describes as "naturally colored, flavored, and sweetened and made with clean, proven ingredients". The GreenShake is the one with the dietary exclusions; TRMe GO is the one built around training.
- Nutritional foundation — LifePak Nano, "a comprehensive nutritional anti-aging program formulated with advanced levels of key nutrients and nanotechnology to help nourish and protect cells, tissues, and organs throughout the body."
- Digestive comfort — Nu Biome, the one Nu Skin attaches specific bloating claims to: "Reduction in bloating and digestive discomfort related to food intake.*"
None of those is a weight-loss product and none of them is sold as one. A shake replaces a meal; a multivitamin covers gaps. What actually moves body composition is what you eat the rest of the day and whether you do any resistance training, and no supplement on this site changes that arithmetic.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still buy the full TR90 programme?
No. TR90 Control, TR90 Fit and the 30- and 90-day kits are no longer produced. The GreenShake is what remains. Anyone still selling you a "complete TR90 kit" is selling old stock, and we would want to know how old before buying it.
Does TR90 preserve lean muscle while you lose fat?
Nu Skin does not print that claim on its US site, so we will not repeat it. It is one of the most widely copied sentences about TR90 and we have not been able to source it to Nu Skin.
What results should I expect, and how quickly?
Nu Skin publishes no timeline and no figures for TR90, so there is nothing honest we can put here. If you have read a week-by-week breakdown of TR90 results — including on this page before September 2026 — it was written by somebody, not measured by anybody.
Do I need to exercise?
A shake and a multivitamin are not an exercise programme, and no product we sell claims to be one. Resistance training is the part that protects muscle while you are in a deficit. That advice is free and it is not conditional on buying anything here.
Is it suitable for everyone?
