The short answer: CordyMax Cs-4 is a $48 cordyceps supplement that Nu Skin sells on a single, modest claim, and it suits an adult who wants to try that claim properly for six weeks. It is not a stimulant, it is not a quick fix, and Nu Skin itself says so. If that sounds like what you were looking for, it is here at $48, in stock, no membership needed.
What Nu Skin actually claims for CordyMax Cs-4
Here is the whole of it. Nu Skin's US page describes the product in one sentence:
"CordyMax® Cs-4® is a proprietary, standardized extract of the Cordyceps Sinensis mushroom that promotes stamina and vitality while reducing fatigue."
That is the claim. Stamina, vitality, less fatigue. There is no performance figure on the page, no percentage, and no list of benefit bullets underneath it. When you read a review elsewhere promising more than that sentence, you are reading the reviewer, not Nu Skin.
We would rather tell you that plainly than dress it up. A small claim is not a weak product; it is simply an honest outline of what you are buying.
How long before you would know
This is the most useful line on Nu Skin's page, and the one most buyers skip. Nu Skin prints:
"Mild effects may be evident within one week, while significant effects may take 3 to 6 weeks to become evident."
It also says CordyMax Cs-4 "should be taken regularly for consistent results." Put those two together and the buying decision becomes clearer. This is a product you commit to for a month and a half, taken every day, before you judge it. Taking it on the days you feel flat and skipping it on the days you do not will tell you nothing.
The dose, and what that means for cost
Nu Skin's directions read: "As a dietary supplement for adults, take two capsules two or three times daily with food and drink." So you are taking four to six capsules a day, split across meals.
Nu Skin's current US product page does not print the number of capsules in the bottle, so we are not going to invent a cost per day for you. What we can tell you is the honest way to work it out: check the count on the label when it arrives, divide it by four if you take the lower dose or by six for the higher one, and that is how many days a $48 bottle lasts you. Over a six-week trial, plan on more than one bottle.
Two bottles come to $96, which sits just under the $99 point where US shipping becomes free. Most people buying for a full six-week trial will want to round the order up rather than pay for shipping twice.
Who CordyMax Cs-4 suits
- An adult whose complaint is stamina and fatigue. That is the claim Nu Skin prints. If your goal is something else, such as sleep, focus, immunity or weight, this is the wrong bottle and you should not buy it hoping.
- Someone who will take it every day. Nu Skin is clear that it works on regular use. The people who get nothing from a supplement like this are very often the people who took it twice a week.
- Someone who wants to try a Pharmanex mushroom extract without spending $140. At $48 it is the low-cost way in. Its sister product, ReishiMax GLp, costs nearly three times as much.
- Someone who cares where the ingredient came from. The draw of CordyMax over a generic cordyceps capsule is a named strain, Cs-4, in a standardized extract, made under Pharmanex's 6S Quality Process. If a known, repeatable specification matters to you, that is what the price pays for.
Who should not buy it
Nu Skin prints these cautions itself, so they are not our opinion.
- Children. "CordyMax Cs-4 has not been evaluated in children and should only be used by adults."
- Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, unless their physician says otherwise. Nu Skin: "Because there are not adequate and well controlled studies in pregnant or lactating women, this product should not be used during pregnancy or lactation without the advice of a physician."
And three more of our own, because they will save some readers $48:
- Anyone on prescription medication should ask their own doctor before adding any mushroom extract. Ask the doctor, not a website.
- Anyone with a known fungal or mushroom allergy. Cordyceps is a fungus.
- Anyone who wants to feel something this afternoon. If you want a jolt, you want coffee. CordyMax is not built to deliver that, and Nu Skin's own timeline says as much.
CordyMax Cs-4 or a cheaper cordyceps capsule?
You can buy cordyceps for less in any supplement aisle, and it deserves a straight answer. Many cheaper capsules do not tell you which strain they use, how the extract is standardized, or whether it is mycelium or the whole mushroom. CordyMax tells you the strain and that it is standardized. That is the whole of the premium.
What you are not buying is a printed promise that it outperforms a well-specified generic, because Nu Skin does not make that promise and neither will we. If specification matters to you, CordyMax is a fair price for it. If it does not, a cheaper standardized extract is a reasonable choice.
What to pair it with, if anything
Most people should start with CordyMax on its own, so they can tell whether it is doing anything. Two sensible companions, if you already know you want more:
- LifePak Elements, $42. If your daily nutrition is patchy, fix that before you spend on a specialist extract. Nu Skin describes it in these words: "With 25 important vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients, it's more than just a supplement: it's a daily foundation for supporting your health." CordyMax and Elements together come to $90.
- ReishiMax GLp, $140. A different mushroom for a different job. Nu Skin calls it "Your go-to champion for immune system support.*" If you are torn between the two, our ReishiMax GLp vs CordyMax Cs-4 comparison lays them side by side. Together they come to $188 and ship free.

The verdict
CordyMax Cs-4 is a fair buy for one kind of person: an adult whose real complaint is stamina and fatigue, who wants a named, standardized cordyceps strain, and who will take it every day for the six weeks Nu Skin asks for. For anyone else, it is $48 better spent elsewhere, and we would rather you knew that before you ordered than after.
