ageLOC Youth vs ageLOC R2: Which One Should You Buy, and What Each Costs

The short answer: buy ageLOC R2 if what you want is day-to-day energy, and buy ageLOC Youth if what you want is a broad, long-horizon aging-defence formula. They are not competing versions of the same supplement. ageLOC R2 is a two-part day-and-night pair aimed at cellular energy and cellular purification; ageLOC Youth is a single softgel taken morning and evening, carrying a much wider list of claims — bone, brain, joints, eyes, immune function and blood glucose among them. At NuBodyRx, ageLOC Youth is $178 and the ageLOC R2 Night + Day pair is $189. Both are in stock today.

What Nu Skin actually claims for ageLOC Youth

Nu Skin's own US product page describes ageLOC Youth as "a revolutionary supplement built on over a decade of research" that is "formulated to help revitalize your body's natural aging defense mechanisms and promote your youth span." It defines that last phrase on the same page as "the years you can enjoy life feeling more active, energetic, and healthy."

The claim list is the widest of any Pharmanex supplement we sell. Nu Skin prints these, verbatim:

  • "Promotes youthfulness"
  • "Supports DNA damage protection/repair.*"
  • "Supports healthy brain structure and function.*"
  • "Supports normal blood glucose control.*"
  • "Supports normal glucose metabolism.*"
  • "Supports bone structure and integrity.*"
  • "Promotes healthy joint fluidity.*"
  • "Supports healthy eye composition and protection.*"
  • "Promotes healthy immune function and response.*"

On ingredients, Nu Skin says only that "These nutrients are clinically verified to support healthy aging defense mechanisms." That is the whole of it. The page carries a "Proven Results" heading with no figures beneath it, and we found no percentage, no trial size and no timeframe printed anywhere on it. If you want a number to hold Nu Skin to on this product, there is not one to hold them to.

What Nu Skin actually claims for ageLOC R2

R2 is sold as two bottles doing two jobs. Of the morning bottle, Nu Skin writes: "Start your morning with ageLOC R² Vitality (Day) to help optimize energy production within your cells," and more broadly, "ageLOC R2 unlocks your vitality by targeting gene expression patterns related to vital cellular functions." Of the evening bottle: "ageLOC R2 Night optimizes each cell's natural purification process, helping you start each day feeling refreshed and renewed."

The printed benefits are narrower and more energy-shaped than Youth's:

  • "Targets the sources of aging."
  • "Promotes youthful gene expression"
  • "Helps you feel renewed and recharged."
  • "Promotes three dimensions of vitality"
  • "Raises and sustains baseline energy levels."
  • "Helps protect and fortify cells against damage"
  • "Helps restore normal cellular function."

Note the single phrase the two products share: both are described in terms of gene expression. That is the ageLOC idea underneath both of them, and it is the reason people confuse the two.

The pill count is the part most comparisons skip

ageLOC Youth comes as 120 softgels. At Nu Skin's own dosing of four a day, one bottle is a thirty-day supply. So $178 is a monthly cost, not a quarterly one — worth fixing in your head before you compare it with anything cheaper that happens to be a ninety-day bottle.

ageLOC R2 is eight capsules a day, which is a lot of swallowing, and six of those come in the morning. Nu Skin prints "180 Capsules" for the Vitality (Day) bottle, which at six a day is thirty days. We could not confirm the capsule count on the R2 Night bottle — Nu Skin's current US page for it does not print one — so we will not guess at it. If the Night bottle runs out at a different rate to the Day bottle, that changes your reorder rhythm, and we would rather say we do not know than invent a figure.

The $12 that people leave on the table

You can buy R2 as a pair or as two single bottles. At NuBodyRx today, ageLOC R2 Night on its own is $105 and ageLOC R2 Vitality Day on its own is $96. That is $201 for the two, against $189 for the Night + Day pair. Buy them together unless you have a specific reason to run only one half of the protocol — and if you do, note that Nu Skin's instructions describe the two bottles as one routine, not as two independent products.

Which one for you

Choose ageLOC R2 if your complaint is energy — flat mornings, a mid-afternoon trough, the sense of running a quart low. R2 is the one whose printed claims speak to that directly: "Raises and sustains baseline energy levels." It is also the better first purchase if you want to be able to tell, within a few weeks, whether a supplement is doing anything for you. Energy is a thing you notice.

Choose ageLOC Youth if you already have your daily nutrition covered and you want a second, broader, longer-horizon formula on top of it. Youth is a bet on the width of the claim list, not on a change you will feel by Friday. Be honest with yourself about that before you spend $178 a month on it.

Choose neither, yet, if you have no broad-spectrum multivitamin in place. Neither of these is one. A foundational multivitamin like LifePak Nano ($237) covers ground that neither Youth nor R2 is designed to cover, and we would rather sell you the foundation first than the add-on first. Our guide to the four LifePak formulas works through that choice.

One thing to check before you order ageLOC Youth

Our own listing for ageLOC Youth notes that it contains fish — anchovies, sardines and mackerel — and that the softgel shell is gelatin. If you have a fish allergy, this product is not for you; if you are vegetarian or vegan, the gelatin shell rules it out. ageLOC R2 comes as capsules and does not carry the fish warning. That single line decides the question for some people before price ever enters into it.

What neither product page will tell you

Three honest gaps, so you are not surprised later. Neither Nu Skin page prints a timeframe — no "results in four weeks," nothing we can quote you. Neither prints a trial figure or a percentage we can show you. And neither claims to treat, cure or prevent anything; Nu Skin carries the standard line, "These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration," on both. Anyone quoting you a hard number for either of these supplements is quoting something Nu Skin does not print.

Buying either one from us

Both are in stock at NuBodyRx as of today:

No distributor account is needed and there is nothing to join. Every order is covered by our 90-day money-back guarantee, which matters more than usual on a supplement where neither maker's page promises you a timeframe — thirty days is one bottle, and ninety gives you room to actually judge it. Shipping is free on orders of $99 and over, so both of these ship free as single items.
